i was wondering is it true that myxertones.com is sending out viruses along with the attachments.

    Hey, Kristina -

Well certainly sending out viruses along with attachments would be a pretty silly way for us to build a business! No, Myxer is a first class company that gives you what you request and nothing more. Our SMS and email messages go out through industry-standard mechanisms and well-resepcted vendors, and our web servers are well-protected and hosted in a world-class data center.

We’re an advertising-supported business, so we’re able to provide services to our users at no charge. Being “free” in this industry often leads people to wild speculations about what we might be up to, but it’s pretty simple, really. We’re selling ads!

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Is there a plan to attach ringtones or pics directly to the text messages? Certain providers require additional fees to access the internet from their phone. Since the technology is already there (I forward ringers to other phones regulary), what are Myxer’s plans?

    Myk,

Thnaks for such a great we site!! I use it all the time to download and share files. I got all my freinds hooked on this site.

But one question I have is will it always be free? Or will there someday be charges to use it. I have found so many cool free sites that over time start charging to use them.

I currently use an IC902 thru Sprint and I have used yor site periodically. The problem I am having is that the ringtones that I have downloaded from your site work for awhile and then they stop. Its like they just disappear however, they can and will play in ringtone menu. Why is this occuring? How can it be rectified if possible? They don’t even work an entire day which has made me missed calls due to the phone no longer ringing the particular ringtone. Does my phone use a different format or something?

  10. Misha May 31, 2008 at 5:03 pm #

Ok first i want to say I just love your website, i get all my ringtones from here and there the best. Recently i’ve been getting my ringtones in text message forms saying “follow this link” but i do not have internet access on my phone. I really love your wallpaper and ringtones but the only way i can get them is thru a picture message, and i would be really upset to find out that i can only get them by logging onto the internet thru my phone. That’s why I got them off of the computer in the 1st place because I did not have internet access via my cell phone. What do I do?….Im so overdue for some new ringtones its driving me crazy that I can’t get any.

    Hi Misha,

Thanks for your nice note. Sorry for the recent trouble.

Try going to the Account -> Phone Details page and make sure that your carrier is set correctly, then resend the message to your phone. That should do the trick. If not, please drop us a note (htto://www.myxer.com/feedback/) and someone from our support team will be happy to take another look.

    Thanks again,

    Marsha

Do you charge cell phone companies for sending ringtones? Is it a data charge? I want to figure out if it is or not because i occasionally get bills for data. Please let me know. Thanks.

  13. Marsha June 10, 2008 at 9:47 pm #

    Hi Mike,

It depends on your carrier? For most carriers, other than Verizon, we send the content as a link in a text message. When you follow the link on your phone to download the content, you are accessing the internet. Depending on your contract, your carrier may charge you a data access fee. Please see our help blog for more info or drop us a note and one of our support gurus will be happy to help.

    Thanks for using Myxer!

This site can be easily compared to Myspace when it comes to dominating in its field of service…

YES I BELEIVE Myxer has really changed the ringtone game.

  15. Chelsea Dawn June 17, 2008 at 7:37 am #

i just recently found out that myxer cant snd 2 verizon phones, & i wood really like 2 kno y?? cuz all these knuckleheads r cussn yall out on the other blog, & i just want answers. please tell me y its doin this?? is it verizon??

  16. Dawn June 17, 2008 at 2:25 pm #

Yeah, I feel the same way as Chelsea Dawn in the above comment. Everyones mad at you, but it’s probably not even you. It’s probably Verizon, because Verizon wants us to pay for our ring tones through them. They want more money from us, and are sore that we are going to Myxer tones, instead of paying an arm and a leg for their Verizon tones. So, what is really going on?
Thanks for your great site.. Love it..

  20. Marsha June 19, 2008 at 4:45 pm #

Hi Chelsea, Dawn, Joetta, and everyone else -

Thanks for your nice posts. We are trying our hardest to keep things working for all of you.

Unfortunately, Verizon Wireless is not currently allowing us to send ringtone messages directly to phones on their network, but we’re working with them and hope that we will be able to send messages directly again in the future.

Thanks again for your support. Hang in there.

  22. natalie June 25, 2008 at 5:21 pm #

i have a blackberry pearl .. and i dnt have internet on it .. i cant receive ringtones because i dnt have the internet on my phone ?

  23. Marsha June 25, 2008 at 10:57 pm #

    Hi Natalie,

Yeah, you have to have internet access from from your Blackberry Perl in order to download content from our site. Check with your carrier, most have very reasonable monthly internet access plans now.

You’ll be surprised how much you’ll like it once you have it.

Thanks for using Myxer! Please drop us a note of you have any additional questions.
